Esme Comes Face to Face With [Spoiler] — and Ava and Sonny Are Shot At (2024)

In Puerto Rico, Sonny talks to Dex about the security of the island, which has been ramped up, and Dex says he’s staying on top of everything. Ava appears and doesn’t remember this level of security the last time she was here. Sonny says times change, and so do threats.

Dex departs, and Ava is a nervous wreck. She thought this place would give them room to breathe, but she feels more couped up than ever. She says at least Avery is having fun at the beach. Sonny tells Ava not to worry, all Avery knows is she’s having a fun trip with her parents. Ava says she’s not so little anymore, and she’s starting to notice things. Sonny assumes she means his business, but Ava says she’s talking about Nina. Sonny says discussing Nina is off-limits, he’s trying to shield Avery and Donna about what’s happened with Nina, and so far they haven’t asked him about it. Ava says Avery has asked her questions about Nina.

Avery shows up having picked up some seashells for them. Sonny tells Avery they need to have a talk. He says she obviously has noticed that Nina hasn’t been at the penthouse, and they are living apart for a while. He says they need to figure some things out, and he doesn’t want her to worry about it. Avery admits she misses Nina and asks if she’ll ever see her again. Sonny pauses, and Ava interjects and tells her that she’ll see Nina again. Sonny sends Avery off to lunch. Sonny thanks Ava for telling her about Avery’s confusion. Ava noticed Sonny didn’t really answer Avery about Nina, and asls if that’s because he doesn’t know himself.

They are interrupted by a call from Laura, who reveals that Esme is in Paris. Laura is headed to Paris and will update them soon. Sonny warns Laura that having nothing left to lose makes Esme unpredictable. Meanwhile, Dex discovers one of the security guards down on the ground. He radios a man is down, and Sonny grabs Ava and they duck under a nearby table.

Jordan and Anna arrive at Pentonville to question Brennan about the games he’s playing. Jordan offers to do this on her own, but Anna wants to know what Brennan is up to.

Brennan is brought out to meet them and tells Anna how lovely it is to see her again. He compliments Jordan on figuring out that he was the one who contacted her. Jordan asks about the information he claims to have. Brennan says he will give them the information they want for his freedom. Jordan doesn’t have the power to give him immunity, but Brennan says Anna can call her ex-husband Scorpio to get immunity for him and all charges drop. Anna has a better offer, how about he gets to keep his life… Anna says he claims he can give them information on the person who shot Curtis, but they believe Sonny was the target. She says he can deal with them, or Sonny, who won’t like to learn Brennan’s withholding information. Brennan taunts her saying how the mighty have fallen and that Caesar Faison would be so disappointed in his protégé. She calls him a son of a bitch.

Jordan asks if Brennan wants to give them the information, or should she call Sonny. Brennan confesses that in 2019 the WSB acquired a batch of illegal guns, but they went missing before they arrived at the WSB headquarters. He says someone has been selling the weapons, and he had a lead on them, but then he was locked up before he could follow through. Find the seller and they’ll find the gunman. Before he’s taken back to his cell, Brennan says he looks forward to seeing Anna again soon.

In court, Finn tells Martin that he can’t and he won’t go after Muldoon’s wife and kids, but Martin tells Finn this is a solid way out. The court is called back into session, but Finn still won’t put a mother of four in jeopardy.

In the hall, Tracy confronts Mrs. Muldoon. Tracy says she claims she’s suing for her family, well Dr. Finn has a family too. She praises Dr. Finn for saving her life along with many others. She calls him a good man. Mrs. Muldoon says Finn’s negligence still led to her husband’s death. Tracy realizes she must go about this another way and appeals to her sense of self-preservation.

Back in court, Diane tells the judge that Martin Grey wants to call a new witness, and she wants a recess to learn about this witness. Martin explains that is not necessary as he’s not calling the witness. Tracy sneaks back in, as does Mrs. Muldoon, and suddenly Diane announces that she has just been informed by her client that she is dropping the lawsuit. The judge demands Diane and Martin join him in his chambers, and Finn wonders what happened.

Martin and Diane return, and the judge does too and says the lawsuit against Finn and GH has been dropped. Liz hugs Finn and says it’s over. Martin explains Mrs. Muldoon had a change of heart, and they wonder why she dropped the lawsuit. Tracy says justice prevailed and that’s all that matters. Gregory is visibly suspicious.

Martin asks Diane why she dropped the lawsuit, and she says her client instructed her to. He is disappointed he didn’t get a chance to best her in court. She laughs and mocking his southern accent says, “You will get that chance when hell freezes over.”

Tracy suggests they celebrate when Mrs. Muldoon approaches to speak to Finn. They talk in private, and she says she owes him an apology as she just found out her husband Dennis saw an oncologist before him, and she had no idea the lengths he went to to take care of his family. Finn says desperate people do desperate things. He understands as a single father, and he didn’t want to bring her and her family more pain regarding Muldoon’s death. She thanks him and walks off.

Meanwhile, Gregory confronts Tracy and says Mrs. Muldoon has a funding page to help cover the bills, and it seems just as she dropped the lawsuit, someone made a generous donation to it. Gregory speaks hypothetically, the DA may consider that a bribe. He also says hypothetically, he also would owe such a friend for what they did for his son. Tracy says hypothetically, she doubts that friend would collect.

Elsewhere, Finn tells Liz that while he’s relieved, winning this case could have helped that family. Liz tells him that he is such a good man for having compassion for that man’s family despite Muldoon setting him up. Finn says this case made him realize he has people who he loves in his life, and even if he couldn’t practice medicine anymore, he’d still have Violet, his friends and family, and her. As long as he has them, he’ll be okay.

At the hospital, Marshall meets with Curtis and Portia after his first session. Curtis plans to work hard to get back on his feet. Laura approaches them and has news, Esme isn’t in Toronto, she’s in Paris. Laura explains Esme led them on a wild goose chase, and Curtis fears Esme must be going after Spencer and Trina. Marshall says that Esme had to have known this would be found out, so what if this is another fake lead? Laura explains the PCPD has footage of her getting on a plane to Paris. Panicked, Portia says they have to warn Trina.

Portia and Laura both call the kids. Laura gets through briefly to Spencer, who sounds fine, but Portia says she can’t get through to Trina. Portia worries that Trina is in danger from Esme, and it all comes back to Spencer once again. Laura is so sorry about this, and Portia knows she’s worried about Spencer too. Portia says they just have to find and stop Esme. Laura says she is headed to Paris on the ELQ jet, and Dante has already gone ahead. Curtis insists he comes with Laura. Laura says she’ll make a call and walks off. Marshall asks Curtis if he’s sure about this, as he’s concerned about him running off to Paris. Curtis wants to be there for Trina, and Portia insists she’s going too. Laura returns and learns Portia is coming as well and isn’t surprised. Curtis promises they’ll get to Trina and Spencer before Esme does.

In Paris, Spencer surprises Trina with a private getaway cruise to see the French countryside before her classes start. The captain tells them that their luggage has arrived from the hotel, and they’ll set sail soon. Trina thanks Spencer for everything he’s shown her and is grateful for the love between them, and she tells Spencer he’s such an incredible person.

Spencer says before Trina all he could see was pain, and she opened his eyes to a whole new world. He says every day with her gets better, and he’ll love her for the rest of his life. They share a kiss.

Nearby, Esme watches and says they can’t steal away from her that easily. She opens her backpack, and in it is a syringe and a roll of duct tape.

Esme boards the boat as Spencer takes Trina to their stateroom. Spencer gets a call from his grandma, but the service cuts out on him.

On the deck, a ship employee catches Esme, calls her a stowaway, and says she’s going to have to come with him. She grabs a fire extinguisher and bashes him over the head, knocking him out. She apologizes and says she just wants to find her son. She checks and he’s still breathing and is relieved as she’s in enough trouble as is. She drags the man off.

Trina and Spencer head to their room, where they kiss and fall onto the bed. They make love, and after Spencer tells Trina that he’s starving and is going to run and grab a snack.

As he makes his way across the ship, Spencer finds the blood smear on the deck. Meanwhile, Trina comes face to face with Esme in her cabin.

On the next General Hospital: Lois confronts Oliviaand says, “If I leave it up to you, we may never speak again!” Carly tells Tracy this is an opportunity that she can’t afford to miss. On the cruise ship, Esme tells Spencer, “That’s what is going to happen if you don’t do what I say.” Sasha, Brook Lynn and Maxie take a meeting, and Maxie asks, “How favorable are we talking?” Nina tells someone, “That’s all I have to say on the record.” Sonny and Ava take cover.
