Violet comes home from school and finds her father sitting with her grandpa’s cane. He asks why she’s home so early and says they had a half-day. Violet thinks she should take her bouquet for a walk, and maybe Grandpa could come too. Finn sits Violet down and tells her that Grandpa isn’t here, that he passed away last night. Finn tells her that his heart stopped beating, and he wasn’t in pain. Finn suggests she think about how lucky they were to spend time with him. Violet cries that she wants Grandpa to be here still, and runs into his room calling out to him.
Finn follows Violet into the room and she asks where he is. Finn explains the paramedics took him away. She cries that she didn’t get to say goodbye.
Finn tells her that if Grandpa knew last night would be the last time he’d see her, then he would have hugged her so tight. Finn hugs her, and Violet thinks about her time with her grandfather. Finn tells her that life is so beautiful, but sometimes it’s unfair.
Finn carries Violet out and sees the bottle of whisky. They sit on the couch, and he asks how she’s doing. She says she’s sad, and asks what happens to Grandpa now. He tells her they’ll have a funeral in a few days, and all Grandpa’s family and friends will get to say goodbye. She asks if Grandpa is in heaven with the angels. Finn tells her he is.
There is a knock and it’s Liz. She hugs Violet, and says Chace called her. Violet says her dad is sad, too, and needs a hug. She hugs him too, but then spots the glass of whisky and the bottle on the counter. Her expression becomes stern, and she looks into his eyes. Liz asks Violet if she can make Aiden a friendship bracelet as he’s been begging for one. She runs off to her room to do so.
Liz tells Finn that she can’t imagine what he’s feeling, but he’s been drinking, so she’ll take Violet home with her and he can sort things out and go to a meeting. Finn refuses to let Violet leave and says he watched two strangers take his dad away. She wants to help him, but he says nothing can help how he’s feeling. He says he just wanted to ease the pain for a few minutes, and he had one drink. He thinks he has the right to do whatever it takes to get through this day. Liz says she can’t stop him, but she won’t let him get drunk with that little girl in the apartment.

In the park, Dex tells Michael that he hasn’t turned Sonny in, and he hasn’t decided yet what he’s going to do. Michael tells him that he and Kristina don’t want him to report this. Dex asks Joss what she thinks. She says this is his decision, and she’s done telling people what to do. He says that’s a first! Michael tells Dex this is for Kristina’s sake, and if he turns Sonny in, then she’ll have to testify. He says Kristina is pregnant, and this may be too much for her to take. Dex asks, “When is it too much for me?”
Dex says Sonny is a danger to everyone, including his family, and they won’t get a better shot to put him behind bars. Joss finally speaks up and agrees with Dex, but she also doesn’t want to put more stress on Kristina, so she asks him not to press charges.

In Blaze’s room, Blaze says she’s not as much afraid of Sonny as what this is doing to her. She’s the last one to lecture on parents, seeing that her mother has given Kristina plenty of reasons to run from this relationship. Blaze says she’s not her mother, and Kristina isn’t her father. Kristina feels bad for the position she’s put Michael in and having to ask Dex not to press charges. Blaze hopes he doesn’t, as she’s worried about the stress on her as she’s very pregnant. She says if Sonny is arrested, she’ll have to testify in court. Kristina realizes that’s why Michael agreed to talk to Dex, for her and not her dad. Blaze says her brother is pretty amazing. Kristina says she loves her dad, but he shouldn’t get away with this. Kristina makes a decision and calls someone. She asks them to come to the Metro Court.
Dex arrives, and Kristina thanks him for agreeing to come here. She admits she had blinders on when it came to her dad, and she wanted to think of him as the man she wanted him to be. Dex says when he worked for Sonny, he did the same, and he was just as wrong about him. Kristina knows Michael asked him not to press charges because she asked him to, but that was wrong. She says he deserves justice, and if he files charges, then she’ll testify on his behalf against her father.

At Dante’s, Sonny says Dex has betrayed him, and now he’s trying to take him down by becoming a cop, and Dante can’t see it. Dante says the only thing he sees clearly is him, he has a pattern, a has a history of violence. Sonny asks what he’s accusing him of. Dante says this isn’t just about Sonny, it’s about him. He says he’s looked the other way regarding him so many times, and he’s done with that. He says too many people are getting hurt, and if his dad doesn’t fix this, it will only get worse.
Dante warns his dad not to lay a finger on Dex, and not go near him, as if something happens to Dex then he’ll be the first one suspected. He also better hope Dex doesn’t file charges. Sonny thinks his own son has forsaken him. Dante yells he’s trying to save him, he committed a crime and has to face the consequences. Sonny walks out with his head in his hands.

Sonny returns home, and Ava says she was worried about him. He is silent, and she asks him not to shut her out. Sonny says Kristina saw something, got the wrong idea, and now he’s lost her. Sonny tells her that the wedding was beautiful, but Dex came, and he didn’t deserve to be there, and he’s a punk.
Ava asks what he did. Sonny says he punched him a few times, and Jason stopped him before he did something he would have regretted. Ava assumes Dex got the message, but Sonny says guys like Dex never get the message. Sonny claims Dex was taunting him, and Kristina saw what happened, and she took off and he couldn’t explain the situation to her. He says Kristina was the only one who believed in him, and now his little girl is afraid of him.
Michael and Joss go to the bistro, and they talk about the wedding and Sonny. Michael says Brook Lynn’s family loved Sonny, and he was smiling and joking, and he thought how that was the father he knew. Joss says she thought that way too, she thought she was lucky to have him as a stepfather. Michael says the loving side of him is real, but so is the ugly side, and he’s not able to hide his rage as easily anymore.
Michael changes the subject to Dex, and asks if they are back together. Joss says they aren’t, and even though she still loves him, she hates couples like her mom and Sonny who break up and get back together. She says she meant it when she broke up with Dex, but now he’s radically changing his life. She knows he’ll be a great cop, and she knows he will be fine. Michael says she could tell him that she wants to try again. Joss thinks Dex deserves better. He says there is no one better than her.
At the airport, Chase says his dad was so happy yesterday, and he thought they’d have more time. There are so many thinks he wanted to say to him, and now he’ll never know them. The boarding of their flight to Rome closes as Brook Lynn comforts Chase.
At the Quartermaine mansion, Lois tells Ned that she ran it by Monica, and she’s all for it. Ned isn’t surprised as they have the room. Gio is moving in, and Ned says maybe he’ll win his mother over with his music. She loves music, just not Eddie Mayne’s.
Brook Lynn and Chase arrive in the foyer. Chase wanted to go to Finn’s, but Brook Lynn says he needed time to tell Violet. She asks if he’s ready to tell her family. He isn’t, but waiting won’t make it easier.
Brook Lynn and Chase walk into the living room, and Lois says they are supposed to be on a plane to Rome. Ned asks if their flight was canceled. Ned and Lois are told the news off-screen. Lois tells Chase how sorry she is, and his father was a great man. Brook Lynn asks about Tracy. Ned says she’s in the stables and offers to walk Chase down there.
In Albany, before heading out of her hotel room, Alexis grabs Gregory’s good luck medal.
Alexis and Diane arrive at a small private room. Diane tells Alexis she’s rubbed Gregory’s medal to death, so put it away as she doesn’t need luck. A man enters, and Alexis says something about him looks familiar.
Three judges enter the room, and Diane thanks the court for hearing them out today. Diane hopes they will consider Alexis’ appeal, as New York will be better with Alexis Davis back in the courtroom.
The other man stands and says the state is better off without her, as she is a liar. He states he opposes her appeal, his name is Fergus Byrne, and his brother Neil was a casualty of her flagrant abuse of the law. Diane objects on the grounds that Neil is at the center of this case and he is his brother. Fergus argues his brother would be alive if not for Alexis Davis. Alexis stands that she has never pleaded her own case in court and wants Mr. Byrne to have a front-row seat to the show.
On the next General Hospital: Alexis wants to know her accuser’s name. Carly asks Sonny what happens when he runs out of traitors. Dex asks Anna if he’s tarnishing the badge before even putting it on.
